Jesse Raub is the Commerce Writer for Serious Eats. He joined in the summer of 2022 with a focus on testing coffee equipment and other kitchen gadgets. Jesse has been writing for over a decade as a freelancer, and spent 15 years working in sales and education in the specialty coffee industry.

- He earned a B.A. in Fiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago in 2006.
After graduating from the Fiction writing program at Columbia College Chicago, Jesse pursued music writing for a variety of publications. His love for coffee, however, offered an opportunity to develop a career in the specialty coffee industry.
He was the Wholesale Education Manager for Intelligentsia Coffee for eight years, and managed sales and education for Ruby Coffee Roasters based in Nelsonville, WI.
He’s also an avid sourdough bread baker and home cook.
